When we were friends by The Backseat Lovers

Just a warning, this is a big one, this is the first album i've ever truly listened to in it's entirety. It was a good experience though and I will definitely be listening to it more later on.

Watch your mouth: This first song started out bad and all sad and stuff then BAM, amazing acoustic guitar use, then that electric guitar riff went hard, slowly tapered off, not too much but definitely got slower after that, good tapering though it was very nice.

Pool House: Really chill song ngl. great vocals and very out of the way instrumental element in the beginning. Again, love whiny male vocals with electric guitars, which this song definitely becomes halfway through. Great chaser to watch your mouth definitely.

Intuition: same reasons as the last one, chord progression was good, reminds me of if neutral milk hotel was more upbeat atleast in this album.

KILBY GIRL: 11/10, amazing. This is what introduced me to backseat lovers, love the electric guitar chord progression, the questioning if she's ok in the lyrics fits well with the album thematically. It reminds me of "the perks of being a wallflower" so much lol. The "beat-drop" is so good and the lack of vocals allows the instruments to work and by god do they WORK.

Dugout: that opening chord progression is just so full of emotion, instant mood change lol. Another gradual change with the upbeat tempo. I don't know but the lyrics scream jealousy to me. This whole album so far is definitely my style though, loving it.

Davy Crochet: This and kilby girl and my 2 favourite songs from this album I have to say. The yelling periodically in it is so nice. Different reason to the other one though, the acoustic guitar being the main instrument is great and again, love whiney male vocals.

Maple syrup: First off, concerning lyrics. "when we slept in the back of your car, and you left me with a pretty cool scar" then it dies down, then it sounds like it get's revived almost, like back from the dead (yeah thats the meaning of revived) sorta revived. Def a romance song but it's just a little sad if not angry. good chorus and great ending.

Olivia: Kinda good vocals, i'd listen to it acoustic section though.

Sinking ship: Last song, here we go. slow paced but get's more upbeat, quick drop then back to it. THough it's remorseful this time.

OVERALL: great sounding album, more music dump which is i don't like but that's just a personal preference, consistent theme good beats and vocals. 7.5/10
